About the Program
The Environment Protection & Climate Change Department, Government of Punjab, has launched the Climate Change Internship Program — a flagship initiative to engage talented young graduates in Pakistan's fight against climate change. Interns will work directly with government departments on environmental policy, climate adaptation, and sustainable development projects across Punjab.
This is a prestigious opportunity to gain hands-on experience in public-sector climate work, contribute to real policy decisions, and build a career in Pakistan's rapidly growing green economy.
Eligibility Requirements
Age Limit
- 20 to 27 years at the time of application.
Academic Merit
- Minimum Bachelor's degree with at least:
- 75% marks, or
- 3.0/4.0 CGPA, or
- 3.75/5.0 CGPA
Availability
- Applicants must not be employed in any full-time or part-time job.
- Applicants must not be enrolled in a current study program during the internship period.
- A legal affidavit confirming availability will be required.
Seat Distribution by Discipline
The program reserves seats across three specialization tracks:
60% — Environmental Sciences & Engineering
For graduates in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or related fields.
20% — Business, Computer Sciences & GIS
For graduates in Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, GIS, or related fields.
20% — Social Sciences, Arts & Humanities
For graduates in Public Policy, Economics, Media Studies, Journalism, Law, Sociology, or related fields.
What You'll Do
- Support climate change mitigation and adaptation projects across Punjab.
- Assist in environmental policy research and drafting.
- Analyze environmental data and contribute to reports.
- Participate in field visits and community engagement activities.
- Collaborate with senior officials across government departments.
